1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?

Faaaar too lon- 7 years, according to my front page. I've come and gone over the years so it hasn't felt nearly that long.

2. What does your username mean?

I wanted something creepy-cute to represent both my love of things macabre and adorable. And I desperately wanted rid of my old username which I'd been using since I was about 12.

3. Describe yourself in three words.

Polite, adorkable geek.

4. Are you left or right handed?

Righty-tighty

5. What was your first deviation?

(confession time...be brave...*deep breath*) A terrible piece of teenage poetry. (*exhale....*)

Thankfully it's not here anymore...

6. What is your favourite type of art to create?

Hand drawn, digitally enhanced illustrations & animations. Also acrylic paintings. I've experimented a lot over the years and I've definitely found these to be my preference. 

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

I just really want to keep improving the above three from now on. I want to instantly master 'my' style so I stop getting crippled with self doubt halfway through that it's not going to come out at the same standard as the last. That's probably a confidence thing, though.

8. What was your first favourite?

That person's actually left that account now and taken down their deviation. I guess that's what happens when you've been here for this long; a lot of artwork disappears as people move on, myself included.

9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Probably traditional/digital illustration based work?

10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

I've been a fan of yuumei for years, as well as @Jonhsu, Qinni and the list goes on...and keeps getting added too. A few of my favourites to watch right now are raiu-alive, kinixuki, TeaKitsune and loads, loads more. I find it's not just about finding new art anymore, it's about finding someone to watch grow and evolve.

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

Errr...You! dear reader. I don't think I've ever met a DeviantArt person in the flesh before, so I guess as long as we have some similar tastes/goals/likes that we can talk about I'd like to meet anyone.

12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

I've had mutals in the early years and we were always first to favourite and comment on each other's new submissions, offering encouragement and advice. Sharing on DA really helped give me courage to share my work with others, even now.

13. What are your preferred tools to create art?

My tutors at college were determined to get me to give up the mechanical pencil but i clung on to it with my life and I'm glad I did. It's perfect for finely detailed drawings and the control i like. Brusho powders & Inktense pencils for colour and everything gets touched up to some extent in Photoshop.

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Probably my bed. At about 2 a.m. Right when I'm desperately trying to sleep is when all the best ideas come – I've set up my painting supplies on a little table at the foot of my bed so i can paint during the night:



15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

Just recently I received a lot of attention from a journal article I wrote for project educate. After so long away/lurking and not really sharing much with anyone it made me really happy to receive such a positive response and it makes me a little sad to think I'm not going to be able to continue for a while with where things are headed in my life at the moment. Not to say I'm not excited about those things, but I'll miss DA.
